IYRS Summer Gala
The IYRS Summer Gala attracts business leaders, financiers,
entrepreneurs, government officials, Newport’s elite, and global yachts people
in support of an extraordinary school training the next generation of highly
technical and deeply craft-oriented people. The weekend offers great fun – both
on and off the water: (Friday) open
meeting of the IYRS Board of Trustees & a private reception; (Saturday)
CORONET presentation, day sails

boat raffle, and culminating with a sit down dinner silent auction and
marquee entertainment by Lyle Lovett and his band. This Summer Gala is the most important
fundraising event of the year for this unique school, and one of the premier
summer parties in Newport. It’s a great crowd and a very good cause in support
of people who want careers out of thinking and making through their hands.
