Michael
Bush, longtime fashion designer and personal friend of the King of Pop, Michael
Jackson and presenting sponsor Capitol Realty have announced a special
three-day engagement to be held in Newport, Rhode Island in celebration of
Bush’s latest award-winning book King of
Style: Dressing Michael Jackson. The three-day appearance schedule is part
of an on-going tour for the fashion designer who recently took home the 2013
Gold Medal Award from the Independent Book Publisher Awards.  Fans and fashionistas will have the opportunity
to meet the celebrated fashion designer and attend a special exhibit and
presentation of Michael Jackson fashions. The events will also give fans and
fashion enthusiasts an opportunity to purchase the book and meet Michael
Jackson’s fashion designer Michael Bush in person while obtaining a personally
autographed copy. The King of Style:
Dressing Michael Jackson, is the
first art-driven book about the costumes, apparel, shoes and accessories
created and worn by Michael Jackson and includes hundreds of lavish photographs
and a behind-the-scenes-look into the process of collaborating with the world’s
most legendary and powerful entertainer of our time. The book includes personal
stories from the author, never before seen photographs and a fascinating look
into the world of fashion that only Jackson could have created. It has gone on
to sell over 30,000 copies to date. 

For more than 24 years, Michael Bush,
along with his partner Dennis Tompkins worked personally with Michael Jackson
in creating some of the most original and recognizable clothing ever worn by a
musical performer. They created thousands of custom artistic pieces that
captured the inspiration, direction and creativity of the King of Pop.

Michael Bush will arrive into Newport
on Monday July 29th where he will attend the special performance by
“Off the Curb” at the Jane Pickens Theatre. The performance will include the
troupe’s rendition of the famous Michael Jackson hit “Billie Jean”  as part of the Off the Curb Reunion Show. On
Tuesday, Bush will be the special guest of a VIP party to be held at Capitol
Realty at 123 Bellevue Ave beginning at 5:30pm. His three day visit to Newport
will culminate with his official appearance, costume display and talk followed
by a Q&A and book signing on Wednesday, July 31st at 6pm at St.
Michael’s Country Day School located at 180 Rhode Island Avenue sponsored by
St. Michael’s Country Day School and Jackie Henderson Able Mind and Body.
