UPDATE: Newport Woman is $336.4 Million Powerball Winner

Louise White, 81, has won the third largest jackpot in Powerball history.

Louise White, 81, has officially been announced as the winner of the $336.4 million Powerball, Rhode Island Lottery officials announced Tuesday morning.

The jackpot is the third largest in Powerball history, thanks in part to the lottery from one dollar to two dollars last January, and will has been claimed in the name of the Rainbow Sherbet Trust.

The winning ticket wason Bellevue Avenue in Newport. In the weeks that followed the Feb. 13 announcement that the winning ticket had been sold in Newport, rumors swirled that the winner could be anyone from a Salve Regina University student, a group of workers or ' Sid Abruzzi.

White opted for the lump sum payout, and will receive the lump sum payment of $210 million, which is the highest cash option payout in the history of Powerball, a press release from Rhode Island Lottery stated. 

The winning numbers were 1-10-37-52-57 and Powerball number 11.

In a  from Feb. 22, 65 percent of readers said they thought the winner was waiting for the frenzy to die down before coming forward to claim his or her millions.  

The state of Rhode Island will also benefit from the win, and will receive an estimated lump sum tax payment of $14.7 million.
