Newport Storm Raises 3K for Parade Committee

This year, local brewer Newport Storm announced it has raised $3,500 to help the Newport St. Patrick's Day Parade.

It was the third year that Newport Storm collaborated with the parade committee and as the official beer of the parade, the company donates kegs and cases of beer in addition to swag.

Parade Chairman Dennis Sullivan said “Newport Storm has quickly become one of the biggest supporters of the parade, since their start in 1999. Their contributions to the parade have helped to fill the gap in hospitality, which is vital to the growth of the annual event.”

The Newport St. Patrick’s Day Parade is an event that brings many visitors to Newport during the off- season, creating revenue for local businesses. The Newport Storm pint nights held the week of the parade are a great way for the community to come out in support of both the parade and local businesses. Newport Storm said in a release they're proud to use these events to not only promote the parade, but recognize the parade committee for their efforts in organizing this highly anticipated celebration.

On Thursday, April 24th Newport Storm will be hosting the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Awards Ceremony at their brewery, located in the north end of Newport. The Parade Committee and City of Newport will be awarding local businesses and 2014 parade participants with various awards.
