Newport Small Business Extend Thursday Hours for Holidays

More than 75 merchants throughout Newport will keep their businesses open until at least 8 p.m. on Thursdays throughout the month

Newport merchants have united to support a shop local initiative this holiday season.  

More than 75 merchants throughout Newport will keep their businesses open until at least 8 pm on Thursday, December 5th, 12th and the 19th to encourage locals shoppers to buy local this holiday season. 

Holiday festivities both inside and outside the stores will entice shoppers on these three nights.

Refreshments and store specials will be offered. 

There will be entertainment in various locations on all three nights and Viking Tours has been hired to provide trolley service, shuttling shoppers to various parts of the city to shop and dine.

There will be free parking throughout the city, including the Newport Harbor Hotel’s parking lot. 

Many participating merchants have donated a $25 or greater gift certificate to their store that will be a part of a Grand Prize drawing on Jan.  2.  

Three winners will be chosen at random from all entries and receive a basket with participating merchant certificates, valued at more than $400 each.
