The Newport Exhibition Group will sell the Providence Boat Show, the Rhode Island Marine Trades Association announced Tuesday.
21st year, the Providence Boat Show is one of the largest winter boat
shows in New England and held at the Rhode Island Convention
As part of the agreement, Newport Exhibition Group will support
RIMTA through management and marketing consultation, as well as onsite
staffing for the next show which is scheduled for Jan. 31 to Feb. 2, 2014.
“RIMTA is a natural fit to manage the Providence Boat Show,” said Tom Delotto, director of Newport Exhibition Group. "Its dedication to the Rhode Island boating industry and show involvement in past years lends itself to an easy transition. We are pleased to hand over the reins and look forward to supporting them during the transition.”
RIMTA works to grow the Rhode Island marine industry through advocacy, education, and promotion and positioning the Rhode Island, according to its website. Its membership base of more than 250 companies includes boat builders, manufacturers, marinas, boatyards, service providers, retail and wholesale outfits, educational institutions and other organizations involved in the industry.
