Volunteers Needed for the 10th Annual Ballard Park Pumpkin Tour

Take some time this weekend to help out at the 10th Annual Ballard Park Pumpkin Tour!

Aquidneck Island pumpkin patches are looking a little empty as the 10th Annual Ballard Park Pumpkin Tour approaches. Over 1,000 jack-o-lanterns will line the trails of Ballard Park this Saturday, October 13th from 4:30 to 9pm. Displays are currently being carved by local schools and organizations, businesses such as The Newport Sweet Shoppe, Newport Daily News, Holy Smokes and Quantum Sails of Newport as well as newcomers including Alex and Ani, Ranew Salon & Spa, Luca Music & Piano Gallery, Force Newport Crossfit and the Fort Adams Trust.

It is sure to be a fun time for people of all ages, but we need your help! It takes 100 volunteers to successfully execute the Pumpkin Tour and ensure it is a memorable, safe night for all attendees. Friends of Ballard Park need volunteers to help set up displays from 10am to 2pm this Saturday. More volunteers are needed from 4 to 10pm to put LED lights in the pumpkins, monitor trails, greet event goers and remove the LED lights at the end of the night.

For those who have community service requirements, this is a great opportunity to complete a large block of hours in one day. It is also a fun opportunity for people to see what goes on behind the scenes of the Pumpkin Tour and a great activity that families can do together. If you volunteer for community service hours, bring any forms you need signed with you that day!

Sunday, October 14th from 10am to noon: Clean up pumpkins from the trails of Ballard Park

The 10th Annual Ballard Park Pumpkin Tour is the only event of its kind on Aquidneck Island, and totally free to attendees. Lend a little of your time and help make the Pumpkin Tour a smash hit!
