Newport Premiere for Documentary on WaterFire Providence

The premiere will take place on Thursday evening, May 16th at the Jane Pickens Theater

The red carpet will be rolled out in Newport for the documentary, WaterFire: Art & Soul of a City.

The Newport premiere will take place on Thursday evening, May 16th at the Jane Pickens Theater and Event Center in Newport Rhode Island.

The Executive Producer of the program, Joe Rocco and the creator and Executive Artistic Director of WaterFire, Barnaby Evans, will be on hand after the screening to talk about the making of this documentary and take questions from the audience.

“We are thrilled to bring our documentary to Newport and the historic Jane Pickens Theater,” said Rocco.

The documentary takes viewers behind the scenes of WaterFire Providence, one of the world’s most extraordinary events, with its sparkling bonfires and enchanting music.

Jim Karpeichik, 15 time New England Emmy award-winning videographer and editor is the chief videographer and editor of this documentary. Rocco and Karpeichik combined their talents most recently on the New England Emmy Award-winning television special, When the Reds Ruled the Roost, the story of a love affair between the once extremely popular Rhode Island Reds hockey club and their passionate fans. That program aired on NBC 10, NESN and Rhode Island PBS.
