Newport Hospital to Host Overdose Forum

In addition, the forum will offer advice and information for families and friends of addicts to help those they love.

Newport Hospital is hosting a forum on Monday, May 19 to bring state and local officials together to address the ongoing overdose epidemic and and addiction and recovery issues in general.

The forum will offer advice and information for families and friends of addicts to help those they love.

Craig Stenning, head of the state's health department, will be on hand along with officials from Anchory Recovery Center.

The Associated Press reported that a screening of "Anonymous People," a documentary about people fighting substance abuse problems, will be screed after the forum. That will be shown at the Jane Pickens Theatre.

More than 90 people have died from overdose deaths this year.

Update: An earlier version of this story had the incorrect date listed for the forum. We regret the error.
