5 THINGS: Back to Normal!

Feast on some Five Things, since you no longer have to worry about holiday fallout (at least until New Year’s).

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Wednesday, December 26, 2012:

Yay, stories! There is storytime for 3 to 5-year-olds at the Peace Dale Library at 10:30 a.m. The service is free, and for more information, click here.

Skating at Boss Ice Arena. First, there is hockey at 12:30 p.m., followed by public skate at 2:30 p.m. For info on hockey, click here, for skating, click here. Both sessions are at the Boss Ice Arena.

“Death is just the last scene of the last act.” – Joyce Carol Oates. Acting lessons from the Contemporary Theater Company are going down at 5 p.m. for $10. For more info, click here.

And one and two and three and four. There are ballroom dancing lessons at the Towers at 6 p.m. For more info, click here.

Back in business! After going to a reduced publication schedule for the holidays, we’re back to our usual pace of six to 10 stories for the rest of the week. Huzzah! As a reminder though, we will be reduced a bit next Monday and Tuesday, because of New Year’s Eve and Day.

Has the time or date or details of one of your events changed? If you posted the event yourself on our site, then remember – You can always change the details if you’re logged into your Patch account. Failing that, leave a comment on the item in question! The issue is that lately, people have been e-mailing me, and depending on the time of the day, it can take me anywhere from 30 minutes or 30 hours to get to the item, unfortunately. As a result, I encourage you all to be as proactive as possible!

Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s Boxing Day. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).

Sign up for our daily newsletter! Hey, I realize we have a lot of neat features and knick-knacks on the site, so it can be confusing to keep up with it all. Want just one simple, easy to read daily digest? Sign up for our e-mail newsletter here then. It comes out between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. roughly, every single day of the week. Amazing, I know!

Hey, I like the sound of that name – It has a nice ring to it. On this day in 1135, the coronation of King Stephen of England occurred.

Two Broke Girls ensures that you are not broke, of course. Happy 27th birthday to Beth Behrs! I like your work on Two Broke Girls, but it’s so filthy, I can’t quote anything from it. So, you have that going for you, I guess!

Thanks to a note from Sue Davis, please take note of the update to the ballroom dancing schedule - NO CLASS tonight at The Towers or on Wednesday, January 2. We resume our schedule on January 9th. Hope to see you then!
