Upcoming CNA Training Posts Mandatory Information Sessions Dates

Newport, Rhode Island, April 8, 2014- Newport Skills Alliance (NSA), a program of East Bay Community Action Program, will hold a Health Care Certified Nursing Assistant  job skills training program for Rhode Island residents beginning May 2, 2014. Those who are interested in participating must attend one information session, which will be offered on four dates: Mondays, April 14, 2014 and April 21, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at East Bay Community Action Program, 19 Broadway, Newport, Wednesdays, April 9, 2014 and April 16, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at East Bay Community Action Program, 19 Broadway, Newport.  Applications for the program will be distributed at the end of each information session.

The health care training will consist of 5 weeks of work readiness/soft skills, resume & interviewing preparation and 8 -10 weeks of certified nursing assistant instruction (evening class), 120 day temporary license issued after successful completion of CNA training. Classes will meet for five and a half hours per day, five days per week, Monday through Friday. Eligible applicants must be at least 18 years of age and RI resident. Cost to students is $5 for BCI during enrollment, $99 testing fee and $35 licensing fee due just before clinical.
