Newport 375th Anniversary Poster Contest

The contest is open to Newport children between the ages of 5 to 19

As part of the celebration of Newport’s 375 anniversary, the planning committee is hosting a poster contest.

The contest is open to Newport children between the ages of 5 to 19. Entries should be submitted on 11" x 17" paper and commemorate Newport or promote its anniversary celebration.

Three winners will be selected - one each for elementary aged students (grades K-4); middle school aged students (grades 5 - 8) and high school aged students (9-12).

Deadlines for entries is Friday, Feb. 14th by 5 p.m.  The public will be invited to select the three winners by voting between the finalists.

Those interested in entering a poster should submit an 11" x 17" piece of artwork and the form to: Newport 375th Anniversary Committee, c/o Mayor’s Office, 43 Broadway, Newport RI 02840 by Feb. 14, 2014 at 5 pm.

All entries must be newly created, original work of the entrant.

Newport Mayor Harry Winthrop will recognize the three winners at the opening ceremony on May 24th and the winning artwork will be displayed at events held in conjunction with the Newport 375th Anniversary. A prize of $100 will be awarded in each category: elementary, middle and high school ages.
