More About Potter League for Animals
The Potter League for Animals accepts the ill, the aged, the discarded, the badly behaved, as well as the cute and cuddly more sought-after animals such as, kittens, puppies and pure-breds.
For the nearly 2,000 displaced animals that found shelter at the Potter League in 2008-2009, 91 percent were reunited with their owners after having gone missing, adopted to new homes, or transferred to other rescue groups.
Roughly 500 core volunteers help the hard-working and dedicated shelter staff. Potter League provides innovative community outreach programs such as, Pet Therapy, education and training (to benefit both the pets and their caretakers), pet bereavement support groups, affordable spay/neuter programs, legislative advocacy, foster programs, and more.
The shelter's Behavior Department also performs rehabilitation training to make shelter animals more adoptable.
Veterinary services include basic wellness and vaccinations, extensive medical attention for injured, ill, elderly, neglected and abused animals, and emergency funding for house calls needed to treat the pets of qualifying low-income or elderly pet owners.
