  Emmanuel Church Speaker Series by Bruce Wayne Gaines entitled "Celebrat
 ing the Civil Rights Legacy of Jackie Robinson.&rdquo\;&nbsp\;\nAlthough
  Jackie Robinson is best known for breaking the&rdquo\; color barrier&rd
 quo\; in professional sports by taking the field with the Brooklyn Dodge
 rs on April 15\,1947\, he was a powerful civil rights advocate long befo
 re&mdash\;and after&mdash\;that history-making date.&nbsp\; With over th
 irty years of teaching experience\, and now an educational consultant\, 
 Bruce Wayne Gaines is eminently qualified to tell Jackie&rsquo\;s full s
 tory\, having not only thoroughly researched it\, but also having taught
  Black History at Pasadena City College and US Government and History at
  UCLA.&nbsp\; Mr. Robinson studied at both institutions.\nThis lecture\,
  on Jackie Robinson&rsquo\;s birthday and at the beginning of Black Hist
 ory Month\, will be held in the church community hall and is free and op
 en to the public. Free parking is available in the church parking lot on
