Suzanne McDonald leapt from The Boston Globe into new media circa 2008.  Drawing on 15 years’ daily newspaper experience and a Master’s in Mass Communications, Suzanne speaks plainly on creating and sustaining online conversations. Suzanne’s ongoing work includes: Developing the curriculum for and teaching Social Media Strategies at the University of Rhode Island. Programming and launched Newport Interactive Marketers, gathering nearly 1,000 new media and marketing pros for networking and learning over the past 18 months. Serving clients worldwide: Designated Editor ideates and implements engaging interactions via blogs, websites, and social media.

Serving Newport, Middletown, Portsmouth, Tiverton, Jamestown and Little Compton, the Newport County Chamber of Commerce helps promote tourism, business, civic, economic vitality and new economic initiatives to benefit the local business climate. The chamber has more than 1,200 member companies employing more than 10,000 workers throughout Newport County and greater Rhode Island.

Additionally, the chamber sponsors the Newport County Community Fund to assist local non-profit organizations annually. In 2010, the Potter League for Animals in Middletown was one such recipient.
