Artillery Company of Newport Military Museum: 1836 Armory, 23 Clarke St., Newport, RI. An outstanding collection of domestic / foreign militaria representing over 100 countries. Collection includes 4 Paul Revere cast cannon, an original copy of its charter, uniforms of King Hussien, Anwar Sadat, Prince Phillip, Montgomery, Mountbatten, Gen. Abrams, Westmoreland, Shoup, Powell, and Admiral Nimitz. The command, Rhode Island Militia chartered in 1741 by King George II, is the Nation's oldest military organization in continuous service. OPEN: Mon., Wed., Fri., Sat., Sun., 10am-2pm, May thru Oct. Admission by Donation. School / Group Tours by appt., 401-846-8488. Our business meetings are first Tuesday of each month at 1930 hours. Come join us, see and be part of what we are about. Military experience not required.
