By 2007\, she&rsquo\;d already celebrated her 100th birthday and her his tory was replete with sailors who went to extraordinary lengths to care for her. She was an iconic fixture of Newport harbor and one of the most admired and photographed yachts in the world. Until it happened&hellip\ ; on July 7\, 2007 while racing in Narragansett Bay\, she was run down a nd sunk by a yacht nearly twice her size. News of the tragedy came to th e attention of award-winning film director/producer\, Pierre Marcel (Tab arly\, 2009) who\, after meeting with Amorita&rsquo\;s owners\, Jed Pear sall and Bill Doyle was convinced that there was a compelling story that had to be told.
