Check-in starts at 10 a.m. and the Walk begins at noon. People can participate with or without their d ogs\, walk in honor or memory of their cats or other favorite pet\, or f orm a &ldquo\;pack&rdquo\; with friends or family members.\nMorning fest ivities will include a smart and fit pet challenge course\, obedience tr aining demonstrations and Q&\;A\, dog obstacle course\, children&rsqu o\;s scavenger hunt and face painting\, feline &ldquo\;fur-tography&rdqu o\; contest and pet contests. \; Pet care professionals will also be available to discuss acupuncture and massage therapy for pets\, oral hy giene\, veterinary care\, pet nutrition\, training\, healthy pet treats\ , Canine Good Citizen certification and adoption information. Refreshmen ts and lunch will be available.\nParticipants are encouraged to collect pledges and earn prizes at the same time. Those who raise $125 ($75 for kids) will receive a limited-edition Walk tee shirt and eco-friendly wat er bottle. All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the shelter animals.\nThe Walk is free to those who pre-register by June 1 and rais e $50 in pledges. Children 8 years and under are free.
