. Reagan increased the national debt by over 250% in less than 8 years time with no active wars.Read MoreBus h Sr. increased the debt another 66% in just 4 years with no ongoing wars, Bush Jr. increased the national debt another 90% in 8 years when he inherited BUDGET SURPLUSES, and no wars. When Bush left office he left behind massive new debt, no jobs, a major recession, two wars, and growing national debt. But then the tea party comes along and wants it to all go away. They want the country to stop spending money at a time when unemployment is growing. Show me a single time in history, just one, when the US was spending less money during a recession. It doesn't happen. As people are out of work the government takes in less in taxation. This is not the time to reduce government spending which will drive the country into a depression. The tea nuts know NOTHING about economics and how it works. They are like little children throwing a temper tantrum.

I'm with you. We don't like one blog dominating the whole platform, either. An entirely newRead Moreplatform is in the works that will do a much better job keeping local content front and center and solve a lot of the issues that came about when the site was redesigned last year. We're a new company now and in the process of making the business sustainable. You're not the only person that has raised these issues and we're taking them to heart. The new platform will do a better job presenting local news and info separately from national content within the Patch network. As you can see, and as you accurately point out, there isn't much distinction at all and that's not fair to the users. And us editors feel the same way. The pit bull blog isn't there because we want clicks and comments. It's because the platform need to be fixed. If the platform really rewarded people for posting blogs and on the boards, that blog would be drowned out by all the great local stuff happening. But the redesign last year didn't bring about many rewards for users and that is part of what we're fixing now.

Sorry for your loss, that no words can express. Read his thoughts on the patch over the last yearRead Moreor so and his ambitions to be a musician. Thought he set his ambitions a little high, but all musicians do that. Also though he was pretty good musician and writer from the little I heard. I really think the only hope we have is if portsmouth wins it's suit in court. The GA is never going to cut the money from the tolls and even if they did the governor will just veto it.

Some sanity is returning to the Country. The Ninth Circuit Court recently ruled in Peruta v. SanRead MoreDie go that California residents did not have to show a "pressing need" for a concealed weapons license. Thursday, the Ninth Circuit extended that to Hawaii by overturning a district court ruling and thus making the Aloha State a shall-issue state. The Court said, "In light of our holding in Peruta, the district court made an error of law when it concluded that the Hawaii statutes did not implicate protected Second Amendment activity. Accordingly, we vacate the district court's decision denying [the plaintiff's] motion for a preliminary injunction and remand for further proceedings consistent with Peruta." We're glad to see that even the Ninth Circuit acknowledges that the Second Amendment means what it says.

I am so sorry for your loss. I will post a proper obituary for you. God bless you and your family.

I would like to read the proper obituary, at the time I posted this I was very upset and probably not doing the best job I could and I was not in the right state of mind to be writing an obituary for my 30 year old son who has now passed on into the after life. Let Patrick RIP please. Thanks.

I am very much for MOVABLE barriers on the Pell Bridge. THen they can be moved to allow forRead Morethose heavy traffic days (Music and special Week end events) for in coming and then out going.
