Yoga in the Park: A Midweek Escape

All day long, you sit at traffic lights and search for parking spots. Summer in Newport is both beautiful and stressful. Luckily, Ballard Park has a way for you to unwind. Hidden behind the tall grass surrounding the quarry meadow, a yoga class takes place every Tuesday evening. Light breezes and the chirp of birds will help you find serenity after a long day.

Karen Kuzminsky, an enthusiastic and talented instructor from Innerlight Yoga , leads the class. Whether you are a novice or an expert, this yoga class will work for you. Karen’s class covers breathing, warm-up, basic postures and relaxation for all levels. Make sure to wear comfortable clothes you can move in, and bring a yoga mat!

Class is $10 and runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. If you’re running late, don’t worry. Another bonus of being in the great outdoors is you can sneak in without causing a disruption.  We hope to see you in class, which continues every Tuesday until August 28. Escape the hustle and bustle of downtown, and re-energize your mind and body.

A Look Ahead:

Monday, August 6, 4 to 6pm - Mad Hatter (Iced) Tea Party

Wednesday, August 8, dusk (around 8pm) - Movies on the Rocks: The Lion King
