If you haven’t noticed already, Spring Street has recently become more beautiful. Despite the empty sidewalks and leafless trees, there is a eye-catching shop called Picklee on Spring that has graced Newport with its presence. With an enchanting aqua store front and windows clad with punchy chevron Christmas stockings, Picklee on Spring is sure to stop you dead in your tracks and lure you inside.
On a quiet afternoon this week while driving back from a showing we were cruising down Spring when we suddenly slammed on the breaks and pulled over to investigate. Upon walking in the door we were welcomed with a warm greeting by the Lisa, one of the store owners. Lisa and her daughter Jordan recently opened this gem of a store this month and have been receiving rave reviews ever since.
Inspired by Jordan’s DIY design blog Picklee, this mother-daughter duo decided to bring the computer screen to life and create a tactile environment where consumers can see and touch their projects in person. Lisa informed us that this winter we can look forward to DIY workshops where customers will be invited to bring in pieces of furniture from home to restore. Carrying brands like Dwell Studio, Picklee’s shelves are lined with colorful, preppy prints that will bring new life to a tired room. They also have a great child section with toys and nursery decor. We look forward to watching Picklee on Spring blossom over time and we encourage you to stop by this weekend. There are great trinkets for holiday gifts but more so, copious amounts of inspiration which we all truly need this time of year.
