Disasters, natural and otherwise, bring out the best and worst in people. Mutual concern about others' safety is obvious in personal conversations, community action, and shared comments in venues such as this type of social media. Unhappily, the worst is shown in these ways, too. I understand that a person's difficult situation might cause anger and spontaneous outbursts toward emergency and utilities personnel who cannot respond in a timely fashion. However, verbal bullying (my take on some public comments) would not be accepted if our youngsters resorted to that. I'm fairly sure that this thought will be the target of some folks' anger, but so be it. It had to be said.
Here's wishing safe times to all.

What, exactly, are you trying to say? And what's your intended audience? Sandra please, tell us who's been hurting you? Sticks? Stones? Bullying words? Inquiring minds must know...

I commented about some truly vicious remarks made about the perceived disregard for public safety and convenience on the part of some utilities workers. It's so easy to complain when one is inconvenienced; that's understood. But using this forum, which by its very nature, can spread infinitely, is not always the prudent move. That's one reason why I usually write my thoughts on a separate document before sharing them electronically, whether through email or blogs or other media. No one hurt me personally; but when one of my fellow humans is the unwitting victim, I am compelled to respond. Thanks for your concern.
