Using a giant crane mounted on the barge Chesapeake 1000, salvage crews lifted a barge on Friday morning after it had sunk in a storm late October under the Pell Bridge.

The barge had been used by Abhe & Svoboda, the company hired to paint the bridge. It was holding equipment when it sunk and landing upside down in the 100-foot waters.

Earlier this week, crews pumped diesel fuel out of tanks to avoid spillage.

Great job Olga. I wish I saw the world through your lens. When I see a barge under a bridge, it's just a barge. I would love to make a print if you have a high resolution you could share with me.
