A rain/snow mix slowed some morning commutes throughout the island today. 

Although areas throughout Rhode Island saw more snow, Newport's slushy roads resulted in some slippery areas. 

Due to weather conditions, all RIPTA routes were running 10-20 minutes late.

The slush and snow mixtured did not cause any delays. Newport Public Schools started on time this morning.

According to the National Weather Service, rain will continue through the afternoon.
