Police Cite Man Twice in 12 Hours

The following arrests were reported by the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

The following arrests were reported by the Newport Police Department for Thursday, June 13. 

  • Richard Mounts, 38, was cited two times Thursday for drinking in public.  Around 1:59 in the morning police found him at Via Via with a can of beer. Around 9:50 a.m. he was found again drinking a beer around Cranston and Calvert Street.

  • Dayle Harden, 48 of an unknown address in Newport was arrested around 3:54 p.m. on charges of breaking and entering.  Police saw Harden walking on Broadway staggered and appeared to be intoxicated.  Police said he was trying to get inside a building he said “I’m homeless, I have nowhere to go.”

  • Zeltite Kremane, 19, 304 Broadway Apt #1E, was arrested 7:45 a.m. on simple assault charges.

  • Michael Bourque, 32, of 44 Memorial Blvd. West, was arrested around 10:25 a.m on a disorderly charge. He was allegedly walking down Chapel Street and blocking traffic.

  • Paul Mitchell, 23, of 378 Thames Street Apt #2, was arrested on simple assault and resisting legal arrest after police broke up a group fighting on Bowen’s Wharf.
