The Newport area should be prepared for slight delays and traffic detours as a result of the Pell Bridge Run.

The race begins at 6:30 a.m. and police will begin blocking off some roads as early as 4:30 a.m. No pedestrians other than registered athletes will be allowed on any part of the bridge.

Jamestown

From 4:30 to 7:30 a.m. East Shore Road will be closed between the intersection of Conanicus Avenue and the Rt. 138 on/off ramps.

From 6:00 to 7:00 a.m. Conanicus Avenue will be closed at the intersection of East Shore Road through the on-ramp to Rt. 138 (Newport Pell Bridge).  The Downtown Newport exit will be closed to traffic until 8:00 a.m.

Newport Pell Bridge

Traffic on the Newport Pell Bridge will be reduced to a single lane in each direction between 6 to 8 a.m.  

Newport

From 6 to 8 a.m. Farewell Avenue will be closed through America's Cup Avenue, and Van Zandt Street at the corner of Farewell will also be closed to traffic.  Expect delays using Farewell northbound until 8:30 a.m.
