Keith J. Filkins, 32, of 15 Leal Terrace, Newport, was arrested around 1:27 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, for a vandalism charge.

Police were dispatched to 35 Touro St. for a vandalism report, and when they arrived they found blood spread throughout the office leading to the back door. There was also shattered glass from the broken door.

According to the reporting party, she had been out with Filkins, who had been working for her, and other friends. When the two got into an argument, the woman went back to her office.

She told police Filkins also went back and knocked on the door. When she did not let him in, he reportedly punched through the glass near the top of the door.

Police located Filkins outside of Newport Hospital. He admitted to punching the glass, reports said.

Man charged for throwing items at cars, acting disorderly

Richard B. Mounts, 37, of 15 Meeting St., Newport, was arrested around 6:35 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, for a disorderly conduct charge.

Police were dispatched to America’s Cup Avenue for a report of Mounts acting disorderly.

A witness told police Mounts had been throwing items at passing vehicles, walking in the road towards cars and yelling profanities.

Warrant arrest

Tony J. Woods, 40, of 20 Chapel St., Newport, was arrested around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, for an active warrant for a delivery of marijuana charge.
