Jose A. Hernandez, 47, of 7 Clinton Ave., Newport, was arrested around 4:20 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 10, for driving without a license and an active warrant.

Hernandez was pulled over for having a broken rear brake light. Reports said he gave police a Guatemala identification card.

When police ran his name through dispatch, they found he had an active warrant for failure to appear for a deportation hearing.

Other arrests

• Nikki A. Hall, 38, of an unknown Newport address, was arrested around 3:32 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 10, for an active warrant.
• Kelly M. Browning, 23, of 143 Third St., Newport, was cited f around 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11 for a noise violation.
