Newport Police Log: Teen Arrested for Threats Charge; Two Domestic Assault Arrests
The following is based on reports from the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
A 15-year-old Providence girl was arrested around 1:35 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1, for a disorderly threats charge.
Police were dispatched to her home for a reported assault. According to the girl’s mother, the girl had been trying to go out with her friends, but was not allowed to go, which caused an argument.
Her mother told police the girl had hit her and threatened to “smash her head.”
A witness also told police the girl had threatened her mother, reports said.
Other Arrests
- Robert J. Stark, 22, of Portland, ME, was arrested around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1, for domestic simple assault and domestic disorderly conduct charges.
- David J. Harding, 39, of West Warwick, was arrested around 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1, for a domestic simple assault charge.
