Sean P. McGillicuddy, 45, of Newport, was arrested around 10:05 a.m. on Monday, June 18, for a domestic simple assault charge.

Police responded to the victim's address on Broadway for a domestic report.

According to reports, the couple had been in an argument the night before.

McGillicuddy reportedly came to her apartment the next day, still upset over the fight, and started a physical altercation with her. He then left the apartment.

An upstairs neighborhood told police during the time of the incident she heard a loud bang and a woman yelling.
