Newport Police Log: Man Arrested For Possession of Stolen Goods

Newport Man Arrested For Possession of Stolen Electronics and Other Items

Timothy L. Santiago, 19, of 40 Freebody Street, Newport, was arrested around 6:10 a.m. Sunday for alleged possession of stolen property.

Police responded to Freebody Street to speak with Santiago about a previous arrest. Officers saw Ray Bans, GPS devices, cell phone accessories, jewelry and other goods that were consistent with stolen items they saw posted at the station.

Santiago admitted to stealing the items. He was handcuffed and transported to the police station for booking.

Assault Arrests

  • Ryan J. Morgera, 22, of 66 Annandale Road, was arrested around 2:05 a.m. Saturday. Morgera was arrested for two suspected counts of simple assault/battery. He was handcuffed and transported to the police station for booking.
  • Alan Glazer, 34, of 264 Beechwood Drive, Paramus, NJ, was arrested around 2:25 a.m. Saturday. Glazer was arrested at the Marriott on charges of domestic simple assault/battery. He was handcuffed and transported to the police station for booking.
    Editor's note: On Jan. 11, the charge against Alan Glazer was dismissed and the case was expunged.
  • Erik W. Lee, 20, of 2 Ayrault Street, Newport, was arrested around 7:21 a.m. Sunday. Lee was arrested for suspected domestic assault/battery, domestic vandalism, refusal to relinquish a telephone and larceny under $500. He was handcuffed and transported to the police station for booking.

Warrant Arrests

  • Cora R. Mureddu, 49, of 32 Newport Ave., Newport, was arrested around 2:37 p.m. on Saturday. Mureddu was arrested on an active district court warrant. She was handcuffed and transported to the police station for booking.
  • Leon E. Sampson, 21, of 15 Meeting Street, Newport, was arrested around 6:04 p.m. Sunday for an active bench warrant. He was handcuffed and transported to the police station for booking.

Larceny Arrests

  • Edwardo Figueroa, 30, of 15 Meeting Street, Newport, was arrested around 9:07 p.m. Saturday. Figueroa was arrested for two suspected counts of felony larceny from Game Stop on Connell Highway, resisting arrest and obstructing an officer. He was handcuffed and transported to the police station for booking.
  • Timothy L. Santiago, 19, of 40 Freebody Street, Newport, was arrested around 11:35 p.m. Saturday. Santiago was arrested for two suspected counts of larceny shoplifting at an Xtra Mart and first-offense possession of marijuana. He was handcuffed and transported to the police station for booking.

Other Arrests

  • Lance G. Weeden, 39, of 84 Unity Drive, Middletown, was arrested around 8:55 p.m. Saturday. Weeden was arrested for allegedly violating a no contact order. He was handcuffed and transported to the police station for booking.
  • Matthew S. Williams, 18, of 9 Ann Street, was arrested around 11 p.m. on Friday. Williams was arrested for suspected alcohol possession of a minor. He was handcuffed and transported to the police station for booking.
  • Kyle P. Reynolds, 28, of 16 Dudley Ave., Middletown, was arrested around 1:40 a.m. Saturday. Reynolds was arrested for suspected first-offense driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a chemical test. He was handcuffed and transported to the police station for booking.
  • Jordan R. Butler, 18, of 3 Rosedale Court, Middletown, was arrested around 11 p.m. Friday. Butler was arrested for suspected possession of alcohol by a minor. He was handcuffed and transported to the police station for booking.
  • Frank T. Michael, 48, of 15 Meeting Street, Newport, was arrested around 5:25 p.m. Friday. Michael was arrested for alleged disorderly conduct at Newport Hospital. He was handcuffed and transported to the police station for booking.
