Newport Police Log: Man Arrested for Breaking J.H. Breakell Window

The following arrest information was supplied by the Newport Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Brett J. Mrozowski, 25, of 342 Spring St., Newport, was arrested around 1:50 a.m. on Tuesday for two charges of vandalism.

Police were dispatched to J.H. Breakell Jewelry for a vandalism report.

Mrozowski was located on the Newport Public Library lawn and was seen walking down  Spring Street hitting other objects while he went.

According to reports, Mrozowski appeared intoxicated and was bleeding. He admitted to punching a window at J.H. Breakell. He had also tipped over a garbage can, spilling its content.

He told police he was upset at the women he had gone out with that night.

Police handcuffed him and transported him to the station for booking.
