Stephanie B. Sawicki, 47, of Newport, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27, for domestic refusal of a telephone and a domestic simple assault charge.

Police were dispatched to Sawicki’s residence.

The victim told police that she had shoved him and grabbed his phone while he attempted to dial 911.

Reports said Sawicki admitted shoving the man and taking away the phone.

Man charged with stealing vehicle parts

George M. Costa Jr., 64, of 54 Gould St., Newport, was arrested around 11:46 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, for a larceny of vehicle parts under $1,500 charge.

Police located Costa at his home.

Costa turned himself in to police and admitted to stealing the parts, reports said.
