Newport Folk Festival Sells Out Weekend Tickets; Artist Update

When it comes to the Newport Folk Festival, it pays to plan ahead. Despite expanding to a three-day schedule, it seems like folk fans just can’t get enough.
Five months before the event, all tickets except for Friday passes have sold out. Yes, that means that all early bird, three-day, two-day, and Saturday passes have been snatched up.

This is the fastest that weekend tickets have sold out to date. Last year, weekend tickets sold out in April. In 2011, the festival sold out in advance for the first time ever just weeks ahead of time.
The much-hyped festival managed wildfire ticket sales despite even releasing a full line up.
This year, the Newport Folk Festival has been using a rolling introduction approach to announce the 2013 artists.
