'Moonrise Kingdom' Filming at Trinity Church Until 8 P.M.

Wes Anderson's film "Moonrise Kingdom" is filming the scene "The storm has passed. The steeple didn't make it," today in and around Trinity Church.

Wes Anderson's movie Moonrise Kingdom is filming a scene in and around today, which is expected to wrap around 8 p.m. The central plot of the movie is around a pair of 12-year-olds played by Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward, who are both on-set at the church. Hollywood stars Bruce Willis, Bill Murray and Ed Norton are also on set at the church today.

Steve Dolce, who runs the youth center for the  Program, found the staff food van in his parking spot at the this morning, which is providing the catering service.

"This is pretty exciting," Dolce said, as he watched the scene set up from Spring Street.

The scene is called "The Storm Has Passed. The Steeple Didn't Make it."  A church steeple was spotted attached to a car on-scene.

Most characters in today's scene are played by children, who are dripping wet after a storm and wearing ponchos.

Filming is expected to return to the church on Thursday and then move to another Aquidneck Island location later this week.
