Monday: Pumpkin Picking and Decorating, 'History Detectives' Premiere Party

Here's a look at what's going on around Newport today.

 

Halloween Creativity: Make a Halloween mask or paint your own pumpkin at the Newport Public Library today at 3:30 p.m. The event is free to teens and materials will be provided.

"History Detectives": The Newport Historical Society will host the PBS "History Detectives" Episode Premiere Party tonight at 8 p.m. at the Jane Pickens Theater & Event Center. Tonight's episode uncovers secrets behind a Revolutionary War-era document from the Society’s collections that was recently rediscovered. The event is free. 

Pumpkin Picking: The Trinity Church pumpkin patch is open for the season from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily where you can pick up pumpkins and gourds. 

Vikings games: Girls Varsity Tennis has a match away against North Smithfield High School at 3:45 p.m.; Girls Varsity and Junior Varsity Volleyball will play Johnston at home today. Varsity plays at 6:30 p.m., JV plays at 5 p.m.
