Man Charged for Breaking into Brewer Street Boatworks
The following is based on reports from the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Police arrested Reinaldo Lopez, 50, of 195 Admiral Kalbfus, early Tuesday morning for breaking and entering and possessing burglary tools charges.
Lopez was arrested around 4:30 a.m. after police were dispatched to Brewer Street Boatworks on Connell Highway. Lopez had activated the business alarms and smashed a window, reports said.
When police arrived they found Lopez inside. He was ordered out of the dealership and dropped a flashlight and a broken kitchen knife.
Police also found a screwdriver set, flashlights, a cluster of cut wires, a leathermans tool and a cell phone on the scene.
