Man Arrested for Firing Pellet Gun, Hitting Neighbor's House

The following is based on reports from the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

Dillon R. Adams, 18, of 20 Congdon Ave., Newport, was arrested around 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, for prohibited weapons and discharge of a pellet gun charges.

Police were dispatched to Tilley Avenue for a report of air guns being discharged near the property. The man who reported the air gun found ten pellet holes in his back door and window frames.

Reports said police found Adams sitting in the rear door of his foyer across from the house holding a pellet gun.

Adams admitted to target shooting in his yard, and that stray pellets may have hit the house.

Police arrest man yelling on Kay Street

Louis Randall, 48, of an unknown address in Newport, was arrested around 8:39 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, for a disturbing the peace charge.

Police responded to a report of a man yelling at people on Kay Street. Reports said police had previously dealt with Randal twice in the past few hours.

Randall reportedly yelled “Nice neighborhood, I like to beat people up in this neighborhood,” and, “Want to give me a hot massage?” to a passing woman.

Police arrested Randall when he would not control his behavior.

Sex offender arrested for failure to notify police of address change

Paul J. Fennessey, 49, of 87 Girard Ave., Newport, was arrested around 10:02 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, for a sex offender address change violation.

According to police reports, police went to 87 Girard Ave., to conduct an address verification for Fennessey. The property manager told police Fennessey had not been staying there for several days and suspected he was staying with his girlfriend.

The next day, Fennessey reported to the police station and said he had been at his girlfriend's house when police came for the address verification.  

Warrant arrest

Christina M. Lopes, 25, of 143 Third St., Newport, was arrested around 7:49 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, for an active warrant for failure to appear in court with the ability to pay.
