The International Tennis Hall of Fame is now officially aglow with holiday lights and spirit.
The center held its annual "Deck the Hall" outdoor lighting Sunday evening. A small bundled up crowd gathered outside the tennis store to hear the sounds of the Cluny School choir. After singing "Come All Ye Faithful," museum director Doug Stark thanked the crowd for attending, then introduced Mayor Jeanne-Marie Napolitano, who led the countdown to the lighting.
As Napolitano and the children of the Cluny choir counted from 10 to 1, the spotlights dimmed and the strings of lights all around the tennis courts lit up.
The Tennis Hall of Fame lighting was the second for Newport this weekend. The city's tree lighting at Bowen's Wharf attracted its own crowds on Saturday.
Tis the season here in our City by the Sea! Stay tuned for more coverage of Christmas in Newport events as the month goes on.
