Ash Wednesday Services in Newport

Christians in the Newport will celebrate Ash Wednesday on Feb. 13.

 

Ash Wednesday is one of the holiest days in the Catholic Church's calendar. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Season of Lent and it is a period of penance, self reflection, fasting and fish fries.

Newport Patch brings you a list of area churches offering services on Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lenten season.

Emmanuel Episcopal Church: 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.

St. Mary's Church: 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Daily masses during lent are Mon-Fri at 7:30 a.m. 

Trinity Church: 12 p.m. and 7 p.m.

St. Augustin's Church: 8 a.m. and 5:15 p.m.

St. John's Church: 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.

St. Joseph's Church: 12:05 p.m., 5:15 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. in Spanish.

Community Baptist Church: 7 p.m.
