The Amica Marathon will take place in Newport and Middletown on Sunday, Oct. 14. Nearly 5,000 runners are expected to compete in the event, which includes the UnitedHealthcare Half Marathon.
Both races start at 8 a.m. at Easton’s Beach.
Residents in the area should be aware that traffic on the following roads undergo traffic restrictions.
Newport: From 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Memorial Boulevard (eastbound)
Newport: From 8 to 11:15 a.m
- Annandale Road
- Narragansett Avenue
- Wellington Avenue
- Fort Adams Drive
- Ocean Avenue
- Bellevue Avenue
- Ruggles Avenue
Middletown: From 9:20 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Purgatory Road
- Tuckerman Avenue
- Sachuest Point Road
- Hanging Rock Road
- Indian Avenue
