Alleged Drunk Driver Crashes into Jeeps at Dealership

The following incident was reported by the Middletown Police Department.

Jessica Lalli, 25, of 134 Harrison Ave., Newport, was arrested Tuesday evening around 5:40 p.m. on DUI charges after she allegedly lost control of her vehicle and crashed into three new Jeep Wranglers at Clare Dodge on West Main Road.

Police reported her passenger had a severe laceration near her mouth and was unable to speak before she was treated by the Middletown Fire Department. Lalli broke her leg and arm in the accident.

According to police reports, the passenger said that she was operating recklessly due to “road rage.”  She also told police Lalli had been drinking but refused to let her drive.

At the hospital, police said Lalli did not remember many details of the accident. She told police she had one shot at about 11:30 that morning after her grandfather’s funeral. Lalli was charged with driving under the influence and cited for operating on a suspended license.

What Is Going in The World Today!?

One shot and still drunk at 5:40pm? Something does not add up - lets be honest. Yes it is a tragedy she lost her grandfather , however she could have killed herself, her passenger, innocent people walking on the sidewalk, or even the folks that work for Clare Dodge , etc. The intersection of Beacon St. and W. Main Rd. is very busy! There are two bus stops, the hotels, and plenty of folks walking with their families. One persons' poor choice could have cost the lives of others, thank God it did not play out like that.

Avoidable Mistake?

The comment posted earlier could not have said it better. This is a very unfortunate situation, which seems like it all could have been avoided. To put the lives of employees, innocent commuters that travel by foot each day on that road, or the cars traveling next to her in danger all over “road rage”, drunk driving, or whatever the case may have been seems so selfish. We can only thank God along a lot of luck that no one was killed, let alone seriously injured in this accident.

Can't help but feel that if this woman's address was in public housing these comments would be alot more vile.

Avoidable Mistake?

An address listed on a license (a suspended COPY of a license, from god knows how long ago) does not mean the person even lives there. Often times it is a relative and chances are it is probably her grandfather's address that she does not even live at. GO FIGURE! A "listed" address means nothing and people should not categorize regardless.

If this article said Parkholm for instance you surely would have seen things like ghetto, hood rat, trash, and worse instead of things like it was tragic she lost her grandfather but, she could have killed herself, etc...sad but true makes me kind of wonder who I really live next door to.
