A Day At The Dog Park

Patch spent an afternoon with some of Newport's four-legged friends.

For many dog owners, letting their four-legged friends off their leashes isn't always an option during their daily walks. Most are confined to short stints on leashes without the freedom to run.

At the Newport Dog Park, which is located by the Pell Bridge across from the , owners and their dogs can do just that. The fenced in park allows dogs to go off their leashes and mingle with other dogs without the fear or worry that they will bolt off and become lost or in danger.

The Newport Dog Park is free and open to the public from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dogs must be licensed and at least six months old.
