5 Things: City Council Meeting and Movie on the Rocks

here's a look at what's going on around Newport today.

 
  1. The Newport City Council will meet at City Hall for it's regularly scheduled meeting at 6:30. The meeting will mark the first under the leadership of Chairman Harry Winthrop. Stephen Coyne will be appointed onto the council to fill former Mayor Stephen Waluk's seat. 
  2. Ballard Park presents Movies on the Rocks: The Lion King, tonight at 8 p.m.
  3. Tonight is Spirits and Stogies Night at the Hotel Viking from 6 to 8 p.m. Call 401-848-4824 for reservations and information.
  4. Today's MuV Chat movie at the Newport Public Library is Flash Gordon. The free moving showing begins at 6 p.m.
