Thompson Middle School’s fifth graders wrote pen pal letters to students in Shimoda, Japan, during a recent grade level project.
Shimoda is one of Newport’s six official sister cities.
Thompson students wrote autobiographical information about themselves, including their interests and hobbies, information about the middle school and what they like most about living in Newport. They also wrote a list of questions they wanted Shimoda students to answer.
