Friends of Ballard Park is hosting the 8th Annual Illuminated Garden on Thursday, February 21, Friday, February 22 and Saturday, February 23 from 6 to 9pm.

Volunteers are needed:

Wednesday, February 20:

9am to 3pm- set up lights

Thursday, February 21:

9am to 3pm- set up lights

4pm to 10m- event set-up, greeters, docents and event breakdown

Friday, February 22:

5 to 10pm- event set-up, greeters, docents and event breakdown

Saturday, February 23:

5 to 10pm- event set-up, greeters, docents and event breakdown

The 8^th Annual Illuminated Garden is a free event
which features light displays and sculptures set up in the three acre quarry meadow of Ballard Park. A slide show from last year’s event is online at http://www.ballardpark.org/12_ILLUMINATED.html.

Volunteers should be prepared to work a minimum of a three hour shift. Additionally, they should dress very warmly (hats, gloves, boots, long johns) and bring extra layers- it gets cold standing outside all evening. They should wear clothes they don’t mind getting dirty (jeans, sweatshirts) and be aware the ground may be muddy.

Ballard Park is located at the corner of Hazard and Wickham Roads in Newport. Volunteers should bring any forms they need signed to verify community service hours to the event. Any students interested in volunteering,
