Ann E. Tschirch, of Swansea, died on Friday, July 2, 2010, after a brief illness.

Tschirch was a trained nurse and met her husband of 46 years, Robert, while caring for his mother. Ann was Chairman of the Nursing Program at Salve Regina University and then Department Chair of the School of Nursing, later Chairman Emeritus, at University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth.

She is survived by four children, Poldi Tschirch, of Houston, Ellen Russell, of Swansea, Mark Tschirch, of Rehoboth, and John Tschirch of Bristol; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Tschirch's funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at 9 a.m. at the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea. Burial will be in Colebrook Cemetery, Rehoboth.
Visiting hours will be held July 6, 2010, from 5 to 8 p.m.
