The East Bay Community Action Program will once again be hosting the Annual Adopt A Family Program for the upcoming 2012 Holiday Season. The East Bay Community Action Program is a non-profit agency that provides a vast array of social services for the under-served in our local communitues.
Our service area includes the entire Newport County area, with our main headquarters being located on 19 Broadway, Newport.
This year is a critical year, with more families than donors-a first ever.
Perhaps we can reflect back on our own holiday experiences and remember how those traditions and experiences defined our own lives. One gift we can give to our communities is to assist those who are in less than optimal financial circumstances in these trying times experience and maintain those same types of traditions. The premise of this program is local businesses, organizations and individuals can 'adopt' a family and purchase gifts from a list provided by the adult members of the family. It is important to note that we are able to match up families with sponsors by taking into consideration family size and business size.
For example, a small family would be manageable for a smaller business, and some larger companies may take on a couple of families. Businesses and organizations choose what is best for their individual dynamic. Families are also encouraged to participate in this program. Please consider joining us in our efforts to maintain the holiday spirit and cheer for our under privileged familes and their children in our communities with a collective effort of generosity and goodwill.
