Storm, Santa and Singers invite you to Hoppy Holidays!
Newport Storm’s annual holiday celebration has some new guests!
The holidays are a time for family, friends, good cheer and thanks, and that’s exactly what Hoppy Holidays is all about! Back for its third year, Hoppy Holidays is Coastal Extreme Brewing Co.’s annual holiday event where we open our doors and invite all our family, friends, fans and supporters to our Visitors Center for an afternoon of merriment and camaraderie! Stop by Rhode Island’s Microbrewery anytime between noon and 5pm before, during or after some last minute holiday shopping to celebrate with us!
There’s something for all ages at Hoppy Holidays, so bring the little ones for a fun family outing at a local destination! The over 21 crowd is invited to join our Crew for some “cheers and beers” with a variety of Newport Storm beers being offered, hot Thomas Tew Rum Cider, guided floor tours of the Brewery and Distillery given by our Brew Master and Master Distiller, and a souvenir pint glass for imbibing! And for the kids, we’ll have an ornament-making station, apple cider, and rumor has it that Santa will be making a very special appearance at 3pm, flying directly from the North Pole right to Storm front door! He’ll be here until 4:30, taking pictures (that will be available to parents post-event) and Christmas requests from the wee ones! And for everyone to enjoy, this year Storm is excited to announce that the Very Merry Dickens Carolers from Cumberland, RI will be greeting guests and performing between the hours of 1 and 3pm, bringing with them the sounds of the season!
“We love inviting our fans to come and ‘hang out’ with our staff, whether it’s at the Brewery or elsewhere, and Hoppy Holidays is the perfect opportunity to show our appreciation and have fun with those who support us all year,” says Taylor Butzbach of Newport Storm. “We’re also super excited to add live performers this year to really tie in the holiday cheer!”

As part of our participation in the Christmas in Newport event this year, Hoppy Holidays included, we’ll be collecting canned-goods at the Brewery all throughout the month of December, to be donated to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center Food Bank. Donations will be tucked away under our Brewery Christmas tree until New Year’s when offerings will be brought to the Food Bank!

Coastal Extreme Brewing Company is Rhode Island’s Microbrewery, brewing Newport Storm beers since 1999. In spring of 2010 they built a new facility within the Newport city limits on JT Connell Rd. Their Visitors Center is open for tours and tastings from 12pm-5pm on Weekdays and Weekends (except Tuesdays). Newport Storm beers continue to be distributed throughout RI, MA and CT, with their beer lines including the flagship Newport Storm-Hurricane Amber Ale, Newport Storm-Rhode Island Blueberry, the Cyclone Series of limited release beers, the Storm of the Season beers, and the Annual Release Series of bottle-conditioned beers. Their Summer Storm of the Season is available in kegs, cases, twelve-packs and six packs. Hurricane Amber Ale Cans are available in twelve packs in the summer months.
In 2006 they began the Newport Distilling Company, becoming the first distillers in Rhode Island in 135 years. Newport Distilling Company focuses on one signature spirit, Thomas Tew Single Barrel Rum, named after the famous Newport pirate. Thomas Tew Rum is an authentic aged pot still rum of the type that would have been made in Newport’s colonial rum heyday. Thomas Tew Rum is currently available for sale only in Rhode Island.
